Little Mix Finally Receive Their MTV EMA Award For Best UK & Ireland Act!

July 2024 · 2 minute read

Last year, Little Mix were nominated twice for the 2015 MTV European Music Awards. They had massive competition in both categories for Best UK/Ireland Act and Best European Act.

Some other big names included in these categories were Jess Glynne, Ed Sheeran, One Direction, and Years & Years – all whom had amazingly successful years. Luckily for their critically acclaimed lead single, ‘Black Magic’, girl group Little Mix were able to take the win for Best UK/Ireland Act.

Not only did the 80’s inspired single go platinum in the U.K. but was an overall success worldwide, charting in many territories including the U.S, New Zealand, Australia, Sweden, Japan, Canada, etc.

The same applies for their Get Weird album, which hasn’t left the U.K Top 100 since it’s release in November of last year (2015).

With the MTV EMA’s going for another round this year, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the girls nominated once again as they’ve had the successful ‘Secret Love Song’ and ‘Hair’ certified Gold and Silver respectively in the U.K. Platinum status for both singles have also been achieved on the ARIA charts.
