Robert John Gagnon was born on June 23, 1958, in Eau Claire to James and Monica Gagnon. He grew up in a loving family and received his education at Regis High School, graduating in 1977. Continuing his academic journey, Robert attended the prestigious University of Notre Dame from 1977 to 1982, where he pursued his passion for learning.

Achievements in Football

Robert’s athletic prowess was evident from a young age. He excelled in football and was recognized as the 1976 Wisconsin Football Player of the Year. His exceptional skills led him to become an All-American player, representing his school and community with pride. Family and Survivors

Robert Gagnon leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his wife, Jill, his daughter McKenzie (Trey) Boettcher, and his grandchild Shaye Boettcher. He is also survived by his mother, Monica, and his siblings James, Mary Ellen, Paul, Peter, Michael, and Patrick. Robert’s father, James, his brother David, niece Traci, and nephew Jesse preceded him in death. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, including his father- and mother-in-law, Bryce and Jeanine Cheatham Jr., and his brother-in-law Jeff Cheatham and his wife Mylinda.

A Christian burial will be held on November 28 at Immaculate Conception Parish in Eau Claire, officiated by Fr. Francis Thadathil. Prior to the burial, visitation will take place at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel in Altoona on November 27. Robert will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery in Eau Claire. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Eau Claire County Humane Association, a cause close to Robert’s heart.

Prior to the burial, there will be a visitation held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, located at 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway in Altoona, on November 27. This will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and members of the community to come together and offer their condolences to Robert’s loved ones. The visitation will be followed by a mass at the church on the same day, starting at 10 a.m.

Burial
